Green Seafoods Ltd. has been owned and operated by the Green family for over 100 years. Four generations of the family have been dedicated to producing high quality seafood, starting with Edgar J. Green in 1905.
For decades the company functioned as a groundfish operation. However, in 1992 when the Government of Canada declared a moratorium on cod, the company quickly adapted and changed its focus to shellfish.
Today, 90% of our production is shellfish and we have become intimately involved in the farming of our own fresh mussels from the cold, clean waters of the North Atlantic Ocean.
We have a wealth of diversified experience in the seafood industry when combined with flexibility, allows us to offer our customers high quality, reliable and consistent products.
For example we have produced seafood for many well-known companies such as; The Canadian Salt Fish Corporation, Fishery Products International, High Liner Fine Foods, Aquastar and Marubeni.
We have produced and shipped seafood to; The United States of America, Japan, Denmark, Korea, Portugal, France, Russia, The Republic of Georgia, Bulgaria, Jamaica, Germany, and nation wide across Canada.
Our labor force is experienced in many different forms of value-added seafood products ranging from; fully cooked retail ready fish nuggets and strips to garlic butter mussels.
